To describe Sean Waltman’s WWE career as average may sound harsh on the surface.

As either The 1-2-3 Kid or X-Pac, he won the Tag Team Championships four times and also tasted European and Light Heavyweight gold during his two spells with the company, as well as being a member of the reformed D-Generation X during a period in which the faction was pivotal to WWE’s all-time high popularity.

Considering his slight frame and stature, he arguably achieved more than he had any right to do, but, unlike the rest of his Kliq buddies, Waltman’s career retrospective only shows one moment that truly stands the test of time.

That came on one of his first RAW appearances when, as a relatively unknown upstart, he scored a famous win over Razor Ramon, who was one of the biggest heels on the roster. It was a classic David-versus-Goliath story that the WWF used to great success in the early 1990s.

Following the victory, Waltman went from being known as merely The Kid to The 1-2-3 Kid, and embarked on a decent midcard run. While his career trajectory may not have risen as those early days promised, his defining triumph over Razor did help thousands of other smaller performers forge their own paths in the industry.
