10 Great Non-PPV Matches You Must Watch On WWE Network

7. Ric Flair vs. Terry Funk - Clash Of The Champions (November 15, 1989)

Ric Flair had just wrapped up an extraordinary series of matches against Ricky The Dragon Steamboat in 1989 when suddenly Terry Funk stepped up to the plate. Funk was a former NWA World Champion and had a great rapport with fans that appreciated his work and respected him for his achievements. However when he laid hands on Flair, all of that goodwill immediately turned to hatred. Funk became a heel, Flair became a babyface, and the two men faced off at the Great American Bash. That match was good but it was the one at Clash of the Champions that stands out for many fans as the best the two men ever had. Funk brought the fight to Flair and watching the two men not only wrestle but brawl, made for some true drama in this match. Funk showed small glimpses of the Hardcore Icon status that he would later be given and Flair proved once again that he could fight with the best of them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HitHAHRTmcU The fact that it was an I Quit match made it all the more memorable and the fact that it featured two industry icons battling for the richest prize in pro wrestling made it all even better.
