You know what? Sacrifice 2012 was one heck of a show. Daniels & Kazarian opened it up by defeating Magnus & Samoa Joe for the tag belts, Kurt Angle defeated AJ Styles in a match that was as good as any between those two men and the main event saw Bobby Roode defend his TNA World Heavyweight Championship in a fun ladder match against RVD.

Sandwiched in the middle of all of this was a great match between Austin Aries and Bully Ray, that really cemented Aries as a top level player in the company. WWE fans will know Bully better as a tag team man (as Bubba Ray Dudley, obviously), but the man had a more than stellar run as a heel in TNA. This was the perfect combination of a heel at the top of his game and a babyface gaining momentum with every passing match.

Bully Ray dominated the match, but Aries was able to stand up to the bigger man throughout, never backing down, never quitting. It is Bully who eventually does the quitting, tapping out to the Last Chancery and giving Aries his biggest win in TNA up to that point.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
