10 Great Wrestlers (With Terrible WrestleMania Records)
2. Asuka (0-3)
Oh Asuka, what are they doing to you?
WWE's treatment of the Empress of Tomorrow has always been baffling since her main roster debut back in 2017, and nowhere is that more evident than at The Granddaddy of Them All.
Asuka entered WrestleMania 34 as an unstoppable badass and a huge fan favourite. She left with her legs cut out from under by the already-established Charlotte Flair, in a spectacularly counterproductive piece of booking. The following year her reign as Smackdown champion ended in the run-up to 'Mania 35, WWE again sacrificing Asuka to the altar of Flair. And her tag-team loss alongside Kairi Sane the following year was rendered irrelevant when the team that beat them split up months later.
And just for good measure, her passing of the torch to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 37 was immediately overshadowed by Charlotte's return to action on the following night's RAW.
Woo.
WWE clearly view Asuka as nothing more than a stopgap champion. McMahon, Prichard and co. treat her as a belt-warmer while they prepare their latest blonde for a world title run - she was booked to lose the belt to Lacey Evans, for God's sake - and she deserves so much more than that.
