9 Great WWE Storylines That Were Dropped Way Too Quickly

4. The Original Nexus

Few who witnessed it will ever forget the closing scenes from the June 7th, 2010 episode of Monday Night Raw. Earlier that year, WWE had introduced a new show, NXT - far from being the tightly structured, awesome wrestle-fest that it is today, NXT was simply a faux reality show premise from the company, existing almost like an in-arena Tough Enough.

In June, the entire 'rookie' cast from the first season pulled together, kicking the almighty hell out of John Cena, tearing up the Raw set and even enlisting Daniel Bryan to choke ring announcer Justin Roberts out with the man's own tie. It felt vibrant, not to mention exciting, and a new group known as 'The Nexus' was born.

Realistically, not everyone involved was guaranteed to be a heavy hitter for years to come in WWE, but The Nexus should have really done more for guys like Wade Barrett and Daniel Bryan than it would. Within a few months, the faction was being single-handedly dismantled by Cena, and Bryan wasn't even a member anymore, instead being on 'Team WWE' at SummerSlam. Talk about wasted opportunity, this was rushed beyond belief.
