10 Greatest Debuts In Modern Wrestling History
6. Jade Cargill
Jade Cargill's previous run as the longest-reigning TBS Women's Champion in AEW history ended up being understandably understated by the company once she decided to jump ship to WWE. Make no mistake about it, though, Cargill was booked as the most powerful woman in the company, as she squashed her opponents with no trouble whatsoever.
When she dropped the TBS Title to Kris Statlander at Double Or Nothing 2023 in a 50-second squash match as part of an unannounced open challenge, directly after defeating Taya Valkyrie in Jade's scheduled defence, something didn't smell right at all. She then disappeared for months before losing a rematch to Statlander that September.
As news broke that Cargill had signed with WWE, the smart money was on her showing up in NXT. However, Jade debuted at the 2024 Royal Rumble in emphatic fashion. As physically imposing as a superstar can be, her Rumble appearance saw her eliminate Becky Lynch, Nia Jax, and Naomi, and hinted at greatness in her future. Her in-ring improvement has been gradual, but WWE has made her one of its star attractions ever since this unforgettable debut.
