10 Greatest Entrances In UFC History

7. Akihiro Gono (UFC 94)

We arrive now at a man whose entrances have become the stuff of legend and - after signing with the UFC in 2007 - it was only a matter of time before he would light up an arena with one of his specials.

In the MMA promotion, PRIDE, Gono had committed to characters such as DJ Gozma and The Magic Man, so a little pageantry was never far from any bout he was involved in.

Gono had amassed an impressive record of 28-12-7 in his MMA career prior to UFC, and fans weren't expecting a slouch in the cage.

Another thing they probably weren't expecting was for Gono to go full drag queen and scamper down to the ring - encouraged by a crew in similar attire - as he did at UFC 94.

The crowd obviously loved the glittery aesthetics and shimmying dance moves that accompanied them, as the noise was deafening.

Gono wouldn't manage to knock off Jon Fitch in the preliminary bout, but the fans left with the knowledge that they'd probably never see anything like that again.

You're probably sensing a bit of a trend emerging here, as awesome entrances don't always guarantee success...
