10 Greatest Feud-Ending Wrestling Matches Of All Time
10. Triple H Vs. Cactus Jack - Hell In A Cell (No Way Out 2000)
For months, Triple H had provoked poor Mankind. He used every political and physical advantage at his disposal to one-up the demented fan favourite until finally Mick Foley snapped and unleashed the full fury of his Cactus Jack persona upon the up-and-coming WWF Champion. While their street fight match at Royal Rumble 2000 was arguably superior, the emotion of their Hell in A Cell encounter is second to none. By putting his career on the line for a chance to finally take the gold into the main event of WrestleMania, Foley had created the ultimate 'all or nothing' scenario and promised to hold nothing back in his encounter with The Game. The build created a realistic possibility that either man could be walking out as champion that night and fuelled the intensity that led to both these men simply beating the hell out of each other inside the Cel. Yet it is the ending that secures this match's place in history. The visual of Cactus Jack standing over a bloodied Triple H with a flaming barbwire 2x4 held high above his head before being dropped from the top of the cage and collapsing the ring below is a tremendous summary of what made Mick Foley such an incredible, unforgettable performer. His loss shortly thereafter would in no way tarnish his legacy as most were simply happy to know that Foley had survived the risky spot yet again. While Foley's storyline return just a few weeks later would neuter this match's impact somewhat, you can't argue that in the moment this was the absolute perfect way to end what had been one of the company's greatest rivalries ever.
