10 Greatest Performers In WrestleMania History

6. Edge

Edge is the Billy Wilder of WrestleMania: a classic in every genre. His 12 matches on the grandest stage cater to fans of all types of sports entertainment. He can close a show in huge matches against Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan, or in the still-underrated clash with The Undertaker which arguably sealed his status as an all-time great singles guy.

He has helped to propel some of the 21st century’s finest gimmick matches, taking wild risks in ladder matches, most notably the inaugural Money In The Bank at 21 and the second ever TLC match at X-7 (the best match at probably the best WrestleMania - some accolade).

He has at least one legitimate show-stealer, the wildly entertaining hardcore brawl with Mick Foley, which sees the ascendant star put in a shift involving barbed wire and a flaming table spot. There’s even some standard quality wrestling in there, like his perfectly decent title defence against Alberto Del Rio (which for a while appeared to be his last ever match).

The well-meaning but dull last man standing bout with Randy Orton in 2020 blots his copybook a little (is it the least rewatchable of all time?), but he’s scheduled for a dream match with AJ Styles this year which, by all rights, should send him up the pecking order.
