10 Greatest Pure WWE Wrestlers

2. Charlotte Flair

If Trish Stratus’ timing was unfortunate, Charlotte Flair could hardly have started her career in a better moment. While the offspring of Ric Flair have mixed fortunes following their father’s footsteps, Charlotte is everything David wasn’t: athletic, imposing, a natural.

Charlotte began in NXT just as a revolution in the women’s division was beginning to stir. Tangling with the likes of Lynch, Banks, Bayley, Natalya, and Paige, she had the perfect place in which to hone her craft, in front of receptive crowds and under terrific tutelage.

WWE took notice, and how. A common complaint about Charlotte is just how strong her booking is compared to some of her contemporaries, and while there’s truth to that, it’s hardly a surprise the office turns to her on a regular basis. She just gets it, taking the best parts of her father’s preening arrogance but adding a steely, overachiever’s ruthlessness.

Flair is simply one of the most well rounded stars in the business today, and if she’s capable of rubbing people up the wrong way, it’s hard to suggest her confidence is anything other than well earned.
