4. Neville
A lot of high flyers get over through sheer elegance, with flips and tricks that delight an audience but don’t look especially physical. Neville, not so much. The Geordie wrestler combines aerial grace with real brutality - top rope moves that actually look like he’s attempting to hurt his opponents.
His coronation as NXT champion in 2014 began the first great run of his WWE career. His ladder match win against Bo Dallas was scorching, and his subsequent tussle with Sami Zayn even better. He held the belt for 287 days, then a record.
He started his main roster career with a bang, fighting John Cena on Raw as part of the US champ’s invitational. The match was a barn burner, with Neville dazzling the crowd with his innovative offence and Cena making the youngster look a bonafide star.
Neville became a mainstay on the Cruiserweight scene and had some solid title matches, including a great WrestleMania pre-show bout with Austin Aries, but all wasn’t well between Neville and management. He set out his contract and left under a cloud, but he’s now back where he belongs, putting on scorchers as AEW’s Pac.
