10 Greatest WWE Intercontinental Champions Of All Time
2. Pedro Morales
While Miz might be on his way to the top of the IC records tables soon, Pedro Morales still sits at the top of the tree for days held. With over 600 days with the championship over just two reigns, Morales was WWE's third IC Champion, carrying the belt through the early '80s as the WWF prepared to strike out from the communal NWA.
Pre-WrestleMania WWF is often disregarded in the same manner as anything that happened in English football before 1992. While Pat Patterson's legend lived on due to his role behind the scenes for WWE, Pedro Morales will be an unknown to a great number of the WWE Universe.
Morales' second reign was only a month short of Honky Tonk Man's all-time record, and it would be a shame if his legacy is lost to history when Miz knocks him off his perch. A fantastic in-ring worker and brilliant foil to babyfaces across the country, Pedro Morales fully deserves a spot on the list of great champions. If his positioning seems a bit high, consider that he carried the belt for nearly two years total between 1980 and 1983.
