10 Greatest WWE Sellers Of All Time
5. Rick Rude
Ravishing Rick Rude, aka The Gyrating Tom Selleck of the Rock N' Wrestling Era, doesn't usually get his due when people talk about well-rounded performers. But his versatility, especially as a storyteller, made him one of the most fascinating entertainers in the business.
Rude was a fantastic heel because he was so much fun to root against. You always wanted to see him get his comeuppance, and he always made sure those just deserts tasted extra sweet for the fans.
His acting during his Iron Man match against Ricky Steamboat in WCW should be required viewing for rookies. He really made you feel his anguish, making you believe Steamboat had gotten even stronger since his days in WWE.
And, not for nothing, he helped The Ultimate Warrior get over in a major way during their Intercontinental Title feud, in part because he sold every generic move the Warrior could throw at him with such impressive aplomb. When wrestling a guy like Warrior, who has an incredibly limited and repetitive move set, it's up to the guy taking the hits to keep things interesting. And Rude could do that all day.
