10 Greatest WWE Sellers Of All Time
6. Bret Hart
When it comes to selling moves ultra-realistically, there may not have been a better guy in the company than Bret Hart. Most of that could be attributed to his intense training with his father Stu in the Hart Family Dungeon, where you simply did not f*ck around.
The Hitman may have subscribed to the notion that babyfaces had to be pious and genial, but that didn't mean he thought his character should be infallible. Unlike The Hulkster or The Ultimate Warrior, whether or not Bret would win any given match was completely up in the air.
And he milked that tension for all it was worth, selling any potential peril to the max. He wanted the crowds to really feel his pain and - at least for a couple minutes - really believe that there was in danger of losing the match...or worse.
Some people had a problem with Bret's refusal to "play to the balcony" in his matches, often relying more on facial expressions and subtle mannerisms than big flops and arm waving. But Bret's more nuanced style of selling helped to ground his matches, even as the product around him grew more and more outlandish (particularly during the New Generation Era).
