For over two years, UFC 202 stood proudly as the most-bought PPV in the history of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Taking place on 20 August 2016 from Vegas’ famed T-Mobile Arena, the event was headlined by a huge rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz.

Diaz had tapped out The Notorious One earlier that year at UFC 196 and a rematch was initially booked for UFC 200. After McGregor and UFC had a disagreement over media duties, the rematch eventually took place at UFC 202 – the Irishman getting what many saw to be a controversial decision victory over his rival.

Also on the UFC 202 card, fans saw Anthony Johnson knockout Glover Teixeira after just 13 seconds, while there were also impressive wins for Donald Cerrone, Mike Perry and a prelim TKO win for Colby Covington.

In addition to the major PPV buyrate UFC 202 brought in, the 15,000+ in attendance for the event amassed a gate of $7.7 million
