7. Vince McMahon On Late Night With Conan O'Brien
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85gGuLxOpNc The height of pro wrestlers on talk shows was around the "Attitude Era" from approximately 1998 to 2000, with the wrestling business booming, especially when WCW was also doing incredibly well during that first year. It was during this period that we got to see Vince McMahon really cut loose in his appearances, most memorably when interviewed by Conan O'Brien. This was part of the build-up to King of the Ring '99, so of course his feud with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was a topic of discussion. Conan sorted through all of the Austin merchandise he was able to find back then: Weird wall decorations, straws, toy trucks, videotapes, action figures, a throw rug, and so on. He then contrasts it with Vince's only merchandise at the time: A terrible "Announcer Vince" action figure in that awful "RAW IS WAR" leather jacket. He's holding a microphone and his legs don't move. This leads to an awesome exchange: Conan: "This is a guy kids REALLY wanna play with. 'I'll get you with my MICROPHONE! I might announce something BAD about you!' Everyone else has kung-fu grip, everyone else shoots their stuff, and look at you right there: 'I'll SAY something pretty nasty!'" Vince: "That's pretty pathetic." Conan: "Can't you get a better action figure?" Vince: "That's pretty realistic, actually." The whole segment is pretty great and it's cool to see Vince so laid back.
