It's really hard to get a picture of Barry Darsow's golfing gimmick that doesn't look like it was churned out by a Game Boy Printer. There aren't too many promo snaps of "Mr. Hole In One" around, and that's probs 'cause Baz only lasted a few weeks in the role. It was so crummy even late-era WCW wanted nothing to do with the thing.

This questionable character debuted on the 18 September 1999 episode of WCW Saturday Night, and paused matches to putt a few balls before smashing some skulls with a pitching wedge. A links-loving wrestler got about as much attention and heat as you'd imagine, but things got even weirder from there. Firstly though, why did Darsow pitch a golfing gimmick?

He really liked golf. Simple as.

Bizarrely, WCW started changing "Mr. Hole In One's" name weekly. One minute, he was that. The next? Barry Darsow? The next? He was going under his old Krusher Khruschev moniker despite wearing Pringle sweaters and carrying golf clubs to the ring.

Stunning levels of absurdity.
