10 HUGE AEW Revolution 2021 Predictions You Need To Know

4. Women's World Title: Hikaru Shida (c) vs. Ryo Mizunami

Valid, understandable complaints on the methods of delivery and indie-style production on the Japanese shows, AEW’s Women’s World Title Eliminator Tournament was a broad success that brought the likes of Emi Sakura and Yuka Sakazaki in from the cold and introduced VENY, Maki Itoh, and others through high-quality match-ups. This week, it yielded an unexpected winner in Ryo Mizunami.

Few would have picked Mizunami at the start of the tournament, when names like Sakazaki and Britt Baker were flying around. Regardless, she is here on merit. A kinetic performer with building-filling charisma and personality and a bruising powerhouse credible when throwing leather even with Nyla Rose, she has lit this tournament up. She should give Hikaru Shida one of her better matches.

Shida deserves immense credit for putting this tournament together, holding things down in Japan, and carrying herself like a pro for the duration of her Women’s World Title run. Creative hasn’t always been there for her, but that’s not her fault.

Here, she’ll win, carrying the belt out of Revolution, but only in the short-term.

Baker yet looms.

Winner: Hikaru Shida
