10 HUGE AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2022 Predictions You Need To Know

5. FTR (c) Vs. United Empire (c) Vs. Roppongi Vice

Forbidden Door
AEW

The oddest and most contrived match on an odd and slightly contrived card will hopefully provide the purpose it ostensibly exists for when FTR become IWGP World Tag Team Champions.

The winner-take-all stipulation doesn't really favour victory for current titleholders Jeff Cobb and Great O-Khan, nor halfway house challengers Roppongi Vice. The latter and FTR have forged a friendship of convenience in their rivalry with United Empire in the run up to the show, but convenience sums this match up more than any kind of story.

Leveraged and measured expectations will help. As will card placement - there are a lot of multi-man matches on this show, and a failure to do an amazing job of putting any of it on television could force the crowd into selecting this as the p*ss/popcorn break, but they'd be wise to go early. Even if the start is unremarkable, trust in 2022's best tag team - there's no way this give way to an electrifying climax.

Winners - FTR
