While Buff proved to be anything but The Stuff during his super-brief spell in WWE after the WCW buyout, Bagwell did have some bright moments throughout his WCW tenure. It was far from a bright move to pick a fight with Ernest “The Cat” Miller, though.

It wasn’t actually one specific match that set off the fight between this pair, but more a series of matches that was the problem. In the midst of a feud and due to fight at the 1999 Road Wild PPV, Bagwell was unhappy about how he had been constantly left laying by The Cat in the build-up to the match. Not only that, the final straw for Buff Daddy was that he was going to lose in the pair’s PPV bout.

An irate Bagwell went to Kevin Nash – Big Sexy serving as a booker at the time – to get the Road Wild match finish changed. This led to an exchange of words between Bagwell and Miller, with Buff reportedly pushing or slapping his PPV opponent.

What Buff Bagwell’s big mistake here was, of course, is that he wasn’t aware that Ernest Miller was a legitimate badass and former karate champion. As such, Miller was quick to floor his rival with several strikes to the face. After the two were separated, Bagwell decided to play nice and apologise after realising that he was about to get his ass kicked.
