Current AEW headliner Chris Jericho is one of the very best all-round wrestlers in the history of the industry. And even before he was a main event player, Y2J was making chicken salad out of chicken sh*t.

Back during his WCW days, Jericho decided to spend months poking fun at Goldberg (as pictured). With absolutely zero involvement from Da Man, Jericho managed to drum up huge interest in seeing Goldberg finally whoop the Canadian’s ass. Essentially, the future WWE Undisputed Champion managed to work a two-person feud on his lonesome. Quite impressive, no?

Regardless, Goldberg had no interest in working with Jericho, and the payoff to all of this ultimately came with Goldberg spearing Jericho in a TV segment.

Fast forward to Goldberg’s 2003 arrival in WWE. During a Raw match that saw Jericho team with Triple H in a losing effort against Shawn Michaels and Booker T, Bill spent the duration of the bout slamming Y2J. Upon hearing about these comments, the much smaller Jericho confronted Goldberg, who responded by gripping the former Lionheart around the throat.

With a reputation for not backing down from a fight, Jericho soon had a choke hold in place that completely immobilised Goldberg. When they were finally separated, Goldberg pulled Jericho’s hair – prompting the Ayatollah of Rock and Rollah to turn around and punch the former NFL star square in the face.
