10 Huge Signings WWE Must Make In 2018

4. Ethan Carter III

Ethan Carter III's name has been top of many a WWE fans' wishlist for a while now. If he resigns with the company, he'll be out to overturn a miserable first run that saw him cast as a middling developmental worker, whose brightest moment came through a lame love triangle story with Maxine and the future Fandango.

Can EC3 succeed where Derek Bateman failed? Absolutely.

He's no great worker, but in-ring action will never be WWE's prime focus, and he's good enough to get by. Carter's other performance skills are exceptional, though. He's one of the most charismatic workers in North America, a tremendously effective heel, and the fact that he's built like a Greek god won't exactly hold him back, either.

Impact Wrestling made EC3 a star, but he's widely expected to leave the promotion when his contract expires in early 2018. A former TNA Champion, he might lack the athletic chops place him among the best of the best in WWE, but his entertainment skills should carry him close to the top of the pile. A long, successful run would be vindication for his inept NXT booking from 2010-13.
