10 Huge Stars Who Only Held The WWE Intercontinental Title Once
7. Booker T
In the polar opposite to AJ Styles, the welcome mat was never rolled out for big Book. Arriving in WWE as a bonafied WCW legend during the disappointing invasion, Booker T was relegated to an idiotic stooge who was decimated by The Rock from the get-go.
Despite his clear ability in the ring and on the mic, Booker T almost had to rebuild himself from the bottom rung of the ladder and he did so in style. He had a natural connection with the crowd through his catchphrases, popped them daft with the Spinaroonie and his scissor kick is one of the most underrated finishers of all time.
Despite finally claiming a World Championship under the absurd 'King BOOKAAAAAH' gimmick, Booker T was a staple of the WWE midcard for most of his time in the company. Once Stone Cold reactivated the IC Title in 2003 after the terrible decision to merge it into Triple H's ego, Booker T entered a feud with Christian over the belt.
Christian was the first champion after the reinstatement, but lost it to Booker T fifty days later. Alas, Booker only held the belt for a little over a month before dropping it back to Christian at a house show.
Still, at least he got to fight for a Japanese Shampoo commercial at WrestleMania!
