Is it possible for WWE to book you in the main event of Fastlane and then have absolutely nothing for you to do one month later at WrestleMania?

It might seem like a daft question with an obvious “no, you idiot” as the answer but, christ, look at last year. Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin faced off against AJ Styles last March for the WWE Championship, and Ruby Riott took on Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Fast forward to April and all 3 of them found themselves on the pre-show

There’s every possibility that Owens' return serves no purpose beyond keeping the spot warm for Kofi Kingston, and if that’s the case there’s virtually no time to give him something worthwhile in the month that remains of TV.

If that’s the case, this has to go down as one of the most disappointing returns in recent memory.
