7. Asuka & Naomi Vs. The IIconics

WWE will almost certainly go out of their way to get Billie Kay and Payton Royce booed by the audience on Saturday, but Melbourne - like most crowds in 2018 - will rightfully be in voices too loud for the pair to screech and wail their latest impersonation over top of.

They’ll go over too, but not just because of the obvious deficiencies in the wafer-thin unit of Asuka and Naomi. The SmackDown Live makeshift pair are the worst act in WWE; under-written in the extreme with dated dialogue and the type of anti-chemistry pessimists prophesied Asuka would be forced to fake before she even left NXT.

October marks a year on the main roster for the ‘Empress Of Tomorrow’, and this new nadir rather fittingly sums up the wretched second half of the stint. She’ll not take the pin here, but won’t be able to help her partner succumb to the locals and their special guest for the night.

Always up for stealing some heat for herself, expect Stephanie McMahon to get knee-deep in the Melbourne-prodding with the blue brand duo in spite of the million and one logical reasons for such a thing not to occur. She never met a live microphone she didn’t like, and the temptation to put herself over alongside one of the most over acts of the night will simply be too great - even if she couches it with an announcement of some brand new Women’s Tag Team Titles in the aftermath.
