10 Iconic WrestleMania Moments Nobody Will Ever Forget

5. Hollywood Hogan Turns Face Versus The Rock (WrestleMania 18)

The Rock versus Hollywood Hogan was supposed to be the meeting of new school and old school, of a classic heel versus a great babyface. The foundation had been laid for a monumental match-up, the kind of bout that showcased two different eras and allowed the fans to stroll down memory lane in a great night of nostalgia. However, something funny happened on their way to having that nostalgic moment; the fans wanted more. More specifically, fans wanted Hulk Hogan. Hollywood Hogan was a WCW creation and was entertaining in its own right but that was not the man the crowd saw standing in the ring across from The Rock at WrestleMania. Fans exploded for Hogan, they responded like no one dreamed they would. For the first time since his return to Vince McMahon's company, Hulk Hogan was finally seen as the star that helped build WWE instead of the guy that tried to destroy it. Of all the great moments in his career, this one stands out as a turning point. This was the night the fans made their voices heard and completely changed WWE's plans. Hogan turned face thanks to this match and his popularity picked up right where he left off. Hulkamania was back as the WWE fans decided what they wanted and rewrote history in the process.
