10 Incredible UFC Fights To Watch In January
9. Brett Johns Vs. Tony Gravely - UFC Fight Night 166
Bantamweight prospect, Brett Johns, has had a bit of a mixed run inside the Octagon. The Welshman went 3-0 inside the promotion, which included an exceptional calf slicer submission win over former title challenger, Joe Soto, at The Ultimate Fighter 25 finale.
However, following that victory, the 27-year old has suffered two back-to-back decision losses to top contenders, Aljamain Sterling and Pedro Munhoz, losing most of the momentum he'd picked up in his opening three victories. He's now got the chance to get back into the win column by taking on Dana White Contender Series star, Tony Gravely.
Gravely looked sensational during his fight on DWCS, viciously knocking out Ray Rodriguez in the third round. Johns is a massive step-up in competition for him though. While his striking is decent, Johns presents an unorthodox grappling style that usually catches opponents completely off guard. Gravely will need to be extremely alert if Johns manages to get this to the ground, otherwise it could lead to very painful night for him.
