10 Ingenious Ways WWE Can Restore Interest In Roman Reigns

7. Find A Better Catchphrase What€™s up with this €œI Can I Will€ nonsense? Roman Reigns came out with this new catchphrase a couple of weeks ago, and... well it€™s dull, to put a point on it. Moreover, it€™s completely out of character for a no nonsense guy like Reigns. It€™s way too much like John Cena€™s underdog gimmick, where every PPV, he has to €˜overcome the odds.€™ (Come on guys. He€™s not really an underdog if he€™s a 15-time World Champion.) It€™s great that the WWE is searching for a new, mainstream, main event star; Cena€™s injuries are starting to rack up, and he€™s not getting any younger. But the solution isn€™t to mold a new guy into the John Cena persona. These things have to happen organically €” the best main eventers grew into their personas, or played exaggerated versions of themselves. Placing someone into a preconceived mold is not sustainable, and it reeks of inauthenticity. It€™s a small irony €” that even in a sport as €˜fake€™ as wrestling, the fans demand a realness and legitimacy in their superstars.
