We've worked it out.

Vince McMahon doesn't use Michael Cole as a conduit because he doesn't trust your stupid birdbrain to remember the time of day (it's Boss time, genius); he does it as part of an ongoing punishment for that time Michael Cole Clapped Back.

In a video leaked in 2014, Michael Cole thought he'd said some phrase or other too many times.

"Do you want me to say that every time?" Cole asked. "Because I've said it a sh*tload of times tonight."

Tragically, we don't hear Vince's reply, but given the various tales of his gasket-blowing and the meekness of Cole's reply, it probably went something like this:

"Yes, goddamnit! Say it every time, pal, because the Universe is too pig-sh*t thick to grasp it! If it took me three hours to download the WWE App, how long will it take these vermin? I'm a genius!"

Cole was beautifully subservient in said response.

"OK...yes sir. Yes sir. OK, I got it sir, I just didn't know if you wanted me to hit it every time, but I'll do that from now on. OK, you got it. Thank you."
