10 Insane WrestleMania Main Events That Nearly Happened

3. Cactus Jack Vs. Big Show

Big Show was robbed in 2000.

Everybody knows he won the Royal Rumble match because his feet touched the floor after The Rock's, but WWE pivoted to a Fatal Four Way match.

The two men people wanted to see fight were the other pair in the match: The Rock and Triple H, although it could've been different. The Game walked into WrestleMania on the back of a star-making feud against Cactus Jack, but Mick Foley could've just as easily put over another rising star.

Let's be real: HHH had already been WWE Champion a few times at this point, but the matches at Royal Rumble and No Way Out proved he was a main event star. That rub could've gone to the World's Largest Athlete instead. Imagine a world in which Cactus Jack defeated Triple H and didn't have to retire, WWE didn't change the number one contender from The Rock to Big Show to The Rock again, then Paul Wight won the WWE strap at 'Mania 2000.

Sure, it's a stretch, but WWE was only a couple of moves away from this being a reality. Fortunately, everybody was spared this happened, then didn't have to sit through Show in a 60-minute Iron Man match a few months later...

When I'm not trying my hardest to visit all 50 U.S. states, I'm listening to music from the 80s, watching TV from the 90s, and reminiscing about growing up in the 00s. I'm currently living in Melbourne, Australia so WWE premium live events are on Sunday afternoons for me; the absolute dream.
