4. The Ascension
Being a former champion in NXT usually guarantees a certain degree of credibility when arriving to the main roster. This was not extended to The Ascension, who were pretty much immediately buried by the commentary team before being inexplicably embroiled in a feud with retired veteran tag teams.
Any aura they had built up during their domination of NXT's tag division was demolished almost instantly upon arrival on the main roster and they've never recovered from that embarrassment, having gradually faded into insignificance as the years have gone by.
They've become the resident jobbers of SmackDown's tag team divison, and any wins they do pick up (such as right before Elimination Chamber) happen solely for the purpose of building them up to knock them down again, so that their opponents might look good. The team's reputation is tarnished to the point where defeating them doesn't even really feel like an achievement.
Their recent appearances on Breezango's Fashion Files segments have been genuinely amusing, but it relies on total subversion of their characters, making them look like softies in warpaint rather than genuinely dangerous challengers. It's clearly impossible to take Konnor and Viktor as serious competitors any more.
