10 Least Salvageable WWE Careers
2. Erick Rowan
Erick Rowan is a big sweaty man in the kingdom of Vince McMahon, so to call his career beyond redemption feels strange.
Rowan is, unfortunately, tainted with past failures and regrettable booking decisions. Big and sweaty he may be, but he was upstaged by the bigger, sweatier Braun Strowman from within his own faction. The only thing he had going for him was regifted to a more intimidating candidate, so it's difficult to take him seriously as a threat.
His six second loss to The Rock at WrestleMania is probably his most significant, memorable moment, and it's his biggest defeat, which is hardly a glowing statement on his perceived credibility. After that, it's his universally panned Stairs match with Big Show, an event so unwatchable that WWE have never dared to repeat the stipulation. That this occurred during his miserably failed face turn and gimmick change is just another reminder of the long litany of failures plaguing Rowan's career.
Injury kept him away from Bray Wyatt's temporary ascension to the main event, and upon his return, he was immediately jobbed out to Randy Orton. He has since been cut adrift by the Superstar Shake-Up.
It's looking like nothing WWE can do could ever redeem Erick Rowan, despite how many variations on his sheep mask they're willing to give him.
