10 Legitimately Good Acting Performances By Pro Wrestlers In Movies
2. Batista As Drax The Destroyer - Guardians Of The Galaxy
After achieving much success within the confines of the squared circle, Batista left WWE in May 2010 to pursue other endeavors, specifically acting. He starred in notable films such as "The Man with the Iron Fists" and "Riddick" in 2012 and 2013, respectively, but it wasn't until he landed a role in Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" in 2014 that fans really began taking him seriously as an actor. Prior to the film's release, many expected the movie to flop and be a financial failure, but as it would turn out, it was anything but. "Guardians of the Galaxy" has been widely critically acclaimed by critics and fans alike since its release on August 1. In particular, Batista's portrayal as Drax the Destroyer has had people raving, calling it his breakout performance. Batista was completely dedicated to his role and showed a lot of promise as an actor. A sequel has since been confirmed for 2017 where Batista will return to reprise his role. Perhaps this could be the launching pad that Batista needed to get his acting career off the ground. Watch out, Rock, you've got competition coming.
