10 Legitimately Good Acting Performances By Pro Wrestlers In Movies

5. John Cena - John Triton (12 Rounds)

Having been the face of WWE for the last decade, it's only logical that John Cena has been offered various roles in movies, most of them being for WWE Studios. Cena made his acting debut in 2006's "The Marine", a film that may be the best of the series but was by no means a masterpiece. He played his part well in the movie, but his big breakout performance came in 2009's "12 Rounds". Again, it wasn't a hit at the box office, but it had an interesting, original plot and more importantly Cena carried it to being better than expected. As Detective Danny Fish, Cena was forced to complete 12 challenges in order to rescue his wife Molly Porter (Ashley Scott) from an old rival Miles Jackson (Aidan Gillen). The action scenes were well done and Cena showed more emotion and drama in delivering his lines than most of his promos on WWE TV. He'd have starring roles in WWE Studios productions "Legendary" and "The Reunion", but neither were as good as "12 Rounds". Cena will have a role in "Trainwreck" and "The Nest", both set for 2015 release dates.
