10 Legitimately Good Acting Performances By Pro Wrestlers In Movies
4. Stone Cold Steve Austin As Conrad - The Condemned
From Hulk Hogan to The Rock to John Cena, it seems as if all the biggest names in pro wrestling in the last 30 years have managed to make the move to the big screen at one point or another. Stone Cold Steve Austin, arguably the face of the Attitude Era during the late 1990s, was no exception. He brought his badass persona to the big screen in 2005 when he had a role in "The Longest Yard" along with several other wrestlers including Goldberg, Kevin Nash and The Great Khali. It wasn't until 2007 that Austin got the spotlight to himself when he was cast in the leading role of WWE Studios' "The Condemned". Stranded on an island with nine other convicts, Austin as Jack Conrad fought for his life while being broadcast for the whole world to see. While the movie received "overwhelming negative" reviews from critics, Austin has gone on record in saying he had a blast during the filming of it. Despite the critical reaction, the movie remains a favorite for fans of The Texas Rattlesnake. Austin was perfectly cast for the role given the strong similarities between his character in the film and his in-ring persona. He'd also star in "Damage", "The Expendables" and "Grown Ups 2" in subsequent years.
