10 Lessons WWE Raw Needs To Learn From SmackDown Right Now
1. Return To Two Hours
It feels like every criticism about RAW can be boiled down to this one issue. The problem is that three hours of wrestling weekly is way too much for the audience to consume. It doesn't help that RAW doesn't have enough story to fill its time slot. It is because of this that we end up with drawn out programmes, repetitive matches, and lame finishes.
Two hours is the perfect amount for a weekly wrestling product. It's not only SmackDown but AEW, NXT and Impact all follow this preferred model too. SmackDown doesn't have to fill the show with padding and nonsense just so it can reach a certain amount of time. Instead we get refined stories with meat on the bone consistently.
It is very unlikely RAW will return to 2 hours, but it is the biggest change that needs to be made. Monday nights might actually be an enjoyable affair with a trimmed down programme and streamlined stories.
