9. He Had A Tryout For WWF In 1991
He had been travelling all over Europe and Africa getting a great reputation for being a versatile, technically excellent wrestler, and in October 1991 he was asked by the WWF to wrestle a dark match at the Royal Albert Hall. This was arranged when Terry Rudge contacted Lord Alfred Hayes. They liked what they saw in the match and asked him to do another match the following night at Wembley Arena. As he said when I interviewed him in March of 2014, the WWF sent him a letter every couple of months saying "We're interested in you and we've got you on file."
