5. Chyna Nearly Faced Steve Austin At SummerSlam 1999

At the height of the Attitude Era, Chyna was right up there with Austin, Rock and Mick Foley in terms of crossover mainstream fame. Looking to seize upon this, the WWE actually considered putting Chyna into SummerSlam 1999's main event. Even bolder than that, they actually looked into having Chyna beat Steve Austin for the championship. The match would have been Austin vs Chyna, and the creative team went as far to actually set it up by making Chyna number one contender. She had rightfully won the right to challenge Austin, but WWE soon decided it wouldn't be a good idea. The decision was made for Chyna to lose her title shot to Mankind, with Foley then going on to win the belt from Austin at the August 99 show.
