10 Live Observations From WWE Las Cruces
5. Bray Wyatt And Luke Harper Steal The Show
In what was arguably the single best match of the night, Luke Harper took on his former teammate Bray Wyatt one-on-one. For lack of a better term, the match was an instant classic, and frankly it's a shame that it wasn't broadcast for a televised audience, because it certainly deserved to be.
Despite his place on the WWE totem pole, Luke Harper has always shown exceptional prowess in the ring, and Wyatt is certainly no slouch himself. Together, the two put on a stellar, and more importantly, genuinely unpredictable match. All the way until the final bell, it really seemed like it could go either way, with fans jumping out of their seats at very close false finishes on more than one occasion. And on a house show where all of the SmackDown titles were being defended the night before a pay-per-view, this was a much welcome change of pace. Ultimately, though, it was Wyatt who would pick up the victory via Sister Abigail.
Moreover, the crowd was absolutely enthralled. Bray Wyatt is still over as ever, and Luke Harper proved himself as a babyface that the crowd is more than willing to get behind.
More importantly, it seems that Wyatt's skills in the ring have not gone unnoticed, as the very next night at Elimination Chamber following his barn burner with Harper, Wyatt would capture the WWE Championship from John Cena. Better late than never, as they say.
