10 Longest WWE Royal Rumble Performances With ZERO Eliminations
4. Sami Zayn - 2017
Lasted 47:12.
The 2017 Royal Rumble match marked the final entry in an almost decade-long line of abhorrent Rumble matches. A period that began with 2009’s lacklustre attempt, 2017 famously had a stacked lineup of part-timers that destroyed the modern-day competition in unconvincing fashion.
At four minutes and thirty seconds, three minutes and twenty-four seconds, and eight minutes and forty-six seconds, respectively, Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, and The Undertaker garnered ten eliminations between them. This, as previously covered, left The Miz without a single elimination to his name - but he wasn’t alone.
Lasting forty-seven minutes and twelve seconds, Sami Zayn had the second-best time of anyone in the bout, falling short of Chris Jericho’s one hour and thirteen second performance. Jericho himself narrowly avoided making this list; he only had two eliminations in Sheamus and Cesaro, but that's still two more than Zayn had.
Sami made it to the upper echelon of the match. Entering eighth, he was the twenty-fifth man eliminated, the last of four eliminations for The Undertaker. By the time Sami left the ring, standing alongside him were ‘Taker, Jericho, Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns, and winner Randy Orton. It’s hardly a bad crop to stand next to, even if his fate was known from the moment he reached that final six position.
