10 Lost Gimmicks WWE Should Bring Back

5. Social Media Influencer

Matt Cardona

What was YouTube specialist Zack Ryder if not one of WWE's first social media influencers? The dude was way ahead of the game in that respect (so much so that even his own employers didn't really understand what he was trying to do), and he deserves a ton of praise for being so smart/seeing into the future.

It's mind-boggling that WWE has largely steered clear of the influencer idea ever since. They've had workers reference Twitter, Facebook, Twitch and the like, but the general attitude of most people towards anyone who'd dare call themselves a "social media influencer" is ideal for heels who want easy heat on themselves.

Woo woo woo. You know it.

If any wrestlers out there have the same crystal ball as Matt Cardona, then they might even be able to see what's coming down the pipe next. Capitalising on the upturn in popularity of a new app, or simply using a pre-existing one (TikTok) would be smart.
