10 Magical Moments WCW Doesn't Get Enough Credit For

5. Doing Right By Randy Savage

Before Lex Luger was making headlines in wrestling magazines around the world, Randy Savage was doing the same. Tired of sitting behind the announce desk over at the WWF, Savage badly wanted to prove he still had enough to headline and be an important full-time wrestler.

Vince McMahon didn't see things the same way and, disillusioned by his role in the company, Randy made the leap to WCW. Making his debut on WCW Saturday Night in December of 1994, he cut a fiery promo that was more like the 'Macho Man' of old. Meanwhile, McMahon had to sit and watch as Savage proved him wrong.

More than capable of still working at a top level, Savage became an integral part of WCW for the next 4-5 years. At the first World War 3 pay-per-view in 1995, he won the WCW World Title.

This was a show of faith from WCW management, recognising that Randy Savage still had a lot to give. It's impossible to envision the WWF giving him a top belt in '95, meaning fans would have missed out on such a moment.
