10 Major Improvements WWE Must Make Before WrestleMania XL
7. Let Some Failing Experiments Die
Now your writer isn't going to sit here and tell you that they didn't lose their damn mind at the sight of Brock Lesnar launching Omos around a ring like the biggest sack of spuds ever produced at Mania 39.
But it was the absolute apathy that met The Nigerian Giant the following night on Raw that really hammered home how much this monstrous experiment just is not clicking in the slightest. Granted, losing to The Beast didn't do the big man any favours.
Yet, even if Omos did slay the smaller monster on the night, would anyone have really gotten excited about the concept of the titan squashing Elias 24 hours later?
Trips has shown on a number of occasions that he possesses the ability to change direction when he felt something just wasn't working; see LA Knight's early Max Dupree stint, for example. But 2022/23 definitely still ranks as an often painful period of trying to force a great many characters and gimmicks down fans' throats that evidently weren't connecting in the way the folks behind the curtain would've hoped.
It's never too late to hit the refresh/reset button on flailing names like Johnny Gargano, Omos, Alexa Bliss, or Damage CTRL, though. So, here's to a year of finally letting blatant failed experiments die, eh?
