10 Major Problems WWE Faces After SummerSlam 2017

1. Buildup To Survivor Series

WWE officials won’t spend next Monday recuperating from SummerSlam; instead, they’ll begin the buildup to the next four-hour extravaganza, Survivor Series. As a result of the brand extension, the November event will most likely pit Raw vs. Smackdown in a battle of brand supremacy similar to last year’s show. While old-school fans enjoy the traditional elimination matches, a throwback to Survivor Series’ roots, they’re not pleased with heroes and villains uniting for a common cause. The most glaring example is when Bayley, the closest thing in WWE to a Good Samaritan, joined her fellow Raw women in a beat down on Nikki Bella last year.

If WWE goes through with the brand war again, at least the Superstar Shakeup has freshened up the rosters to create different teams from last year. The audience still won’t care, though, because there’s nothing truly at stake. Fans haven’t pledged allegiance to either show, so they have no reason to root for either team. Rather, the concept is more of an inconvenience to dedicated viewers who have to sit through this hiccup in the storylines they’ve been following all year.
