10 Major Stars Who Weren’t At WWE SummerSlam 2019 (Even Though They Should Have Been)

5. Braun Strowman

This time last year, Braun Strowman was Mr. Money In The Bank and very nearly cashed in his contract during the main event of SummerSlam. How times have changed...

The larger-than-life superstar is undoubtedly a sight to behold. Not only does he inspire awe just by showing up, he moves around the ring like a man half his size and, as he does so, incites a great reaction from the WWE Universe - who, despite the creative team's best attempts to destroy his credibility, still haven't given up on the 'Monster Among Men'.

Now, after a lacklustre program with Bobby Lashley that, save for the awesome stage spot a few weeks back, grew stale incredibly quickly, Strowman reasserted his dominance over the WWE kingdom by defeating his rival in a surprisingly enjoyable (if a little long) Last Man Standing bout at Extreme Rules last month.

With that in mind, wouldn't now have been the perfect opportunity to finally unleash the Strowman that the-powers-that-be have been trying to rebuild since destroying his push multiple times?

Though another pointless squash may have felt like a waste, at this point, even that would have been a welcome addition to the card because it would have certainly reinforced that the monster was on his way back to the top and that he was a force to be reckoned with once again. A no-show, however, does not.

Monster of a missed opportunity.
