6. Aleister Black

Aleister Black has been on an absolute roll as of late. Not only did he have two compelling (and surprisingly stiff) matches with Cesaro, defeating the 'Swiss Cyborg' in both of them, he swiftly vanquished Sami Zayn on SmackDown Live and, in doing so, silenced every single one of his claims that he couldn't live up to his own hype. With all that in mind, why wasn't he featured on the SummerSlam card, exactly?

There's no doubt about it - he's the future of the company and he continues to prove that every time he steps in the ring. Thus, why not let him prove it on a much grander stage? SummerSlam is as close to WrestleMania as WWE can get without it actually being WrestleMania, and that kind of exposure would have been great for Black, allowing him to solidify his position as one of the best things in WWE today to a much wider audience.

Aside from all of that, Zayn issued the challenge to him for a match at SummerSlam, so what was the point in pulling it forward to a random and meaningless episode of SmackDown Live?

The match that the talented pair ended up having wasn't all that long and, as a result, it could have slotted nicely into the relatively small pay-per-view card and, more importantly, given Black's inevitable victory a lot more meaning. It also could have given him (and Zayn) a well-deserved chance to do their thing on pay-per-view.
