10 Major Stars Who Weren’t At WWE SummerSlam 2019 (Even Though They Should Have Been)
2. Samoa Joe
Roman Reigns wasn't the only one unwillingly dragged into the whodunit angle, as Samoa Joe found himself on the wrong end of some wrongful accusations. Apparently guilty through nothing more than association, his recent issues with the 'Big Dog' (and their subsequent brutal clashes on Raw) had much of the WWE Universe convinced of his guilt - so much so that he cut a killer promo on the red brand last week defending himself.
However, that in itself poised him for an unlikely face turn, as following another confrontation with Roman in the parking lot, he surprisingly came to his rival's aid after the second incident and even called for help - an action that now has most fans convinced of innocence.
Like Roman himself, Joe now has a bone to pick with the assailant so, also like the Big Dog, you would have expected him to show up at SummerSlam in search of answers. Given his ferocity in the ring, he certainly wouldn't be afraid of someone as intimidating as Rowan, so couldn't he have tracked him down or called him out for inadvertently framing him (and nearly running him down)?
It might sound like we're retreading the same territory here, but that's because an angle as huge as this was supposed to be enhanced by the major stars that it featured - not deprive those stars of a slot they deserved on the second-biggest show of the year.
Speaking of which...
