10 Major UFC Signings That Failed Miserably

4. Will Brooks

It's no small feat becoming Bellator lightweight champion. The title has been defended against some of, if not the, best 155lbers competing outside of the UFC for a number of years. So when Will Brooks beat the odds and won the strap, it was a huge moment for the promotion. Not only had he become their new champion, he beat arguably the best lightweight Bellator has ever had in Michael Chandler.

After successfully defending his 155lb belt against Marcin Held at Bellator 145, Brooks vacated the title and signed with the UFC. Things were looking up for Ill Will after his first fight, a decisive victory over British slugger, Ross Pearson. However, his momentum stopped there once he ran into far tougher challenges.

Three incredibly tough losses in a row against Alex Oliveira, Charles Oliveira and Nik Lentz - all of which were finished via stoppage - was enough for the UFC to call time on his tenure with them.
