10 Match Star Ratings For WWE Survivor Series 2019

1. Becky Lynch Vs. Shayna Baszler Vs. Bayley

A very tedious disappointment, it might be tempting to blame an exhausted crowd - but Survivor Series did not span the length of a modern WrestleMania event.

Sometimes a boring match is just a boring match, which the effective build pronounced: Shayna Baszler was in great character form, and Becky Lynch out-drew AEW for the first time. It's no use blaming Bayley, either, or the booking of her character. This, simply, just wasn't very good at all, and fans actually expected something of it.

In layout, this was every WWE Triple Threat match you've ever seen, but it did not suit Baszler's character at all. Brock Lesnar wouldn't do the prolonged nap spot without first being obliterated, and so why was no attempt made to protect Baszler here? She is a monster. Becky Lynch looked profoundly off-the-pace. Her exchanges with Bayley were almost inexplicably sloppy. This wasn't a performance befitting of the most protected star on the main roster. Baszler won, in the end, but she didn't come back from anything significant. In complexion, this wasn't too dissimilar to the dynamic of that seminal Royal Rumble '15 Triple Threat. In execution, it was antithetical.

Becky Lynch getting her heat back was a wild development, but it also wasn't. It was thoroughly expected.

The entire ambition of the night was thus: NXT is better than AEW. Here is proof, to the possible detriment of the main roster. And WWE couldn't even tell the story that is of most importance to them with the requisite conviction.

Star Rating: ★★¼
