10 Matches We NEED To See At WWE SummerSlam 2021
3. Edge Vs. Seth Rollins
An easy one here, considering the reports of the match essentially confirming its existence, but nonetheless, who wouldn't want to see Edge vs. Seth Rollins?
The build to get there is easy, too.
Edge, fresh from his hot comeback on SmackDown a couple episodes back, is slated to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at Money In The Bank. Seth Rollins is currently without a spot on that card, unless he defeats Cesaro to qualify for the titular contest. Presuming it's Cesaro who advances to the 18 July pay-per-view, the avenue to get to Seth vs. Edge provides itself.
It was shown on SmackDown a couple of months ago that Rollins and Reigns are still on speaking terms without the former being forced to acknowledge Roman as 'The Tribal Chief'. While WWE's booking is nothing like AEW's, that could easily be a subtle storytelling plot that says Seth is somewhat in on all this 'Head Of The Table' business.
Needless to say, a showdown between Rollins and Edge would make any pay-per-view must-see. As incredible as the actual match would be, the promos in the build to 21 August would make it that bit more enticing to the viewer. Having 'The Messiah' threatening to break Edge's neck again with the Stomp sounds like a compelling story to this writer.
